WMP Creative announces Moki Health as Official Community Mile Title Partner for 2023 running events

WMP Creative (organisers of the Albert Goodman Weston Super Half, Elysium Healthcare Great West Run and RUN Cheltenham) are proud to announce that Moki Health will be supporting their Community Mile events in 2023 as the official Title Partner of the events. The partnership aims to promote the benefits of physical activity within the local community, with a particular focus on young people.

The Moki Community Mile will take place alongside each of WMP Creative’s annual, closed-road half marathons and will offer a range of incentives to local schools who get involved. These include the chance to win a Schools Starter Pack, which includes three of Moki Health’s state of the art activity trackers and a range of financial donations from WMP Creative to support physical activity as part of the national curriculum.

Moki and WMP Creative are also launching the Moki Community Mile in Schools initiative alongside the event day project. This initiative features a range of learning and fundraising assets for schools to use, free of charge and are available from the event websites.

The Moki Commuity Mile and Moki Community Mile in Schools initiatives are all about getting active, in a fun and unique way, whilst offering opportunities for schools to raise funds for either their own resources or for a local charity.

Moki Health Director, James Huggins, spoke on the announcement:

“Moki was founded to explore ways that technology could help schools deliver the most physically active curriculum possible. However, the central idea was to harness the power of groups and communities to rally together to get active. The Moki Community Mile is a celebration of that idea, and the perfect representation of what Moki is all about. We’re incredibly excited, not just to be part of these fantastic events, but to help them reach the widest possible audience. Every step counts!”

Moki is a wearable step tracker for schools. While that’s a pretty big deal the real power comes from what the Moki app enables schools to do with the data. Moki inspires schools to move more by providing an accurate picture of their physical activity. Using a simple wristband that records a students’ steps and active minutes, Moki offers educators a unique way to engage children in their health and wellbeing.

Rupert Martin, Head of Events at WMP Creative, also commented on the partnership with Moki Health:

“WMP Creative and Moki Health share the same passion and commitment to increasing the level of physical activity in local communities, especially among children, and promoting the health benefits that this can bring. Our new and comprehensive Moki Community Mile and Moki Community Mile in Schools programs offer local communities the chance to get involved in our half marathon events but with a less-daunting distance to tackle. Our goals and Moki’s aligned perfectly on this and we can’t wait to develop these new initiatives in the future as we look to help develop running in the communities we work with.”
