On April 12-13, 2025, the very first edition of the European Running Championships (ERC) will take place in Brussels and Leuven. This revolutionary running event brings together elite athletes and recreational runners on the same course, making the magic of the sport accessible to everyone. After several years of collaboration on other events, European Athletics and Golazo have now also partnered with TRACX to power the official European Running Championships app.

Participant and fans always have the most up-to-date information at their fingertips.

A championship for everyone

The European Running Championships 2025 is an innovative event that features three classic distances: the 10K, half marathon, and marathon. What makes this championship unique is that it brings together professional athletes and recreational runners. Every participant has the opportunity to compete alongside Europe’s best, while contributing to a new ‘country ranking’ competition.

According to European Athletics President Dobromir Karamarinov, this event showcases a challenge open to all: “Young and old, male and female, fast and slow, elite and amateur will all compete together. This championship brings the running community closer and gives every participant the chance to feel like a champion.”

Collaboration

The fact that European Athletics and Golazo have chosen TRACX is no coincidence. Both organisations have been working with TRACX for several years to provide events with the best possible event experiences.

For years, European Athletics has hosted the European Running Business Conference, bringing together the running industry to connect, network, and unite the global running community. TRACX has supported multiple editions of this conference by providing the EventApp for the congress, featuring event information, notification updates and LiveTracking/results for the accompanying morning run. For the upcoming congress, European Athletics will once again use the EventApp, this time for Porto 2026.

Golazo, which is organising the European Running Championships 2025 together with the cities of Leuven and Brussels, has also partnered on TRACX for several events. The white-label apps for major races in the Netherlands such as the CPC Loop Den Haag, ASML Marathon Eindhoven and the Utrecht Marathon have been widely used by participants and fans alike.
