Running Industry Alliance and Outdoor Industries Association create a new working partnership together
Running Industry Alliance (RIA) and Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to focus on collective aims and overall mission.
There are a number of natural common interest areas between Running Industry Alliance and the Outdoor Industries Association, with the new working partnership between the two organisations focusing on trail running connectivity and being active outdoors overall, with all the associated benefits for health and wellbeing for their members audiences.
A new lock-up logo has been unveiled to support the announcement and any joint campaigns, with both organisations feeling passionately about “together we are stronger” and supporting each other and their respective members.
RIA will work closely with and support OIA on any campaigns, collaborative workings or lobbying that can create a stronger presence and support a collaborative approach around Outdoor and Running for health and wellbeing. RIA will be actively supporting OIA’s outdoor strategy for central government where RIA and members can assist.
The organisations will cross-promote each other across their channels and be present at each other’s conferences with The OIA Annual Conference and AGM taking place on 7th-8th September and The Running Conference by RIA on 11th – 13th September.
Co-Leads Rebecca Richardson and Jonathan Midwood from RIA commented: “We are excited to have created this new working partnership that has been developed between each organisation. There is a natural connection between running and the great outdoors, and the associated benefits for physical and mental health. There are several areas of common interest between RIA and the OIA and we look forward to a positive, productive and enjoyable working relationship together and with the overall benefit for both our members and ultimately the wider audiences.”
Andrew Denton, CEO of OIA added: “Signing a new Memorandum of Understanding with Running Industry Alliance is an exciting step, which will help us both focus on collective aims and our overall missions. Running and trail running in particular are part of the Outdoor Recreation sector and play a significant part in our vision to ‘Get Britain Active Outside’.
