Run For All: GEAR up for the Recipharm GEAR 10K, Mini GEAR and Team Challenge in 2023
Not-for-profit events company, Run For All, are delighted to announce the return of the Recipharm GEAR 10K, Mini GEAR and Team Challenge for 2023. The event is being organised in conjunction with the Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk, and Alive.
Taking place on Sunday 30th April, the action- packed day of running will kick off with the Recipharm GEAR 10K at 09.30am. As one of the highlights in the region’s sporting calendar, thousands of runners of all abilities and ages are expected to take part.
Attracted by a scenic route that starts and finishes on Tuesday market place, runners will take on a 10K route that features the historic market town of Kings Lynn, River Ouse pathway and the Walks and impressive landmarks including the Custom House, Red Mount and Greyfriars Tower. Runners are encouraged to sign up their own goal or reason, whether it be to fundraise for charity or to chase a PB.
Also taking place on the same day is the Recipharm Mini GEAR. Featuring a 1.9km route for children aged 6+, organiser’s are encouraging children of all backgrounds and abilities to take part, including those with disabilities and any other special considerations. Organisers are encouraging those with any special considerations to get in touch in order to facilitate all to have the best experience on the day.
Each finisher will receive a Recipharm Mini GEAR medal, and all finishers under 18 will receive a Recipharm Mini GEAR finisher t-shirt.
As part their sponsorship, Recipharm is once again looking to increase participation by offering 150 free entries for local schools, as well as a cash prize pot of £2500 for the top three schools who enter the highest proportion of entrants from their school’s intake to share.
The newly branded ‘Team Challenge’ will sit alongside the main event of the day, the Recipharm GEAR 10K. Aiming to be more inclusive of different teams from all backgrounds, event organisers are inviting teams within local businesses, sport teams, clubs, family or friends to take part.
Open to teams of at least five members (with no upper limit on participant numbers), the Recipharm GEAR 10K will see teams battle it out to be crowned Team Challenge Champions.
Rather than competing as individuals, participants will work collectively to cross the line in the quickest combined time. In addition to being team focused, the Team Challenge boasts a more premium package with the inclusion of a few extra perks and benefits, including race day kit, race day hospitality, digital team photos, team t-shirts and prizes for the winners.
The Team Challenge aims to be fierce, fun and a fantastic way for teams to strengthen their teamwork and engage in friendly race-day rivalry, all while raising money for many deserving charities.
Leading global pharmaceutical development and manufacturing company Recipharm (previously known as Bespak Europe Ltd), has built on its longstanding support of the event by once again becoming title sponsor of all three events.
The naming of Recipharm as the event’s title sponsors follows years of successful sponsorship of the event by the company, and forms a vital part of Recipharm’s wider aims to support the local community, increase participation in sports, as well as promoting good health and wellbeing.
Darren Hodkinson – Site Director at Recipharm said: ‘’We are thrilled to be supporting the Recipharm GEAR 10K, Mini GEAR and Team Challenge. The event promises to be a great way of encouraging team spirit within the local community but also a fantastic way to inject a bit of friendly rivalry between teams of all different types and sizes.
We invite teams of all sizes and combinations to take part, whether that be a business looking for a team building exercise or a group of friends looking for an opportunity to fundraise for a cause close to their heart.
We also look forward to welcoming runners of all abilities and ages to take part in the 10K. Whether runners are looking to chase a PB, fundraise for a charity of choice or a new personal challenge, we endeavor to facilitate a way for all to take part.
We are hugely grateful to Recipharm for their continuing and tremendous support. Their commitment helps ensure our runners have a fantastic race day experience.”
Building on its previous organisation of the event, Run For All will work to increase community and charity engagement, while also working to remove barriers to participation for the event, so that more people in the region can enjoy the benefits of getting active.
Providing fundraising opportunities for charities is the primary objective of every Run For All event, ensuring that the money being raised by the event stays local and supports the causes that need them most.
Runners are encouraged to fundraise for their own charity of choice or one of the event’s partner charities; the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, The Purfleet Trust and Break.
Any charities interested in becoming an Official Charity Partner of the event, whether they have previously been involved with the Recipharm GEAR 10K or not, are encouraged to contact Run For All as soon as possible.
