Realbuzz drives impressive fundraising growth at the 2024 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON
Realbuzz, the global leader in charity running programmes, is celebrating a monumental achievement at the 2024 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, where a total of €6,059,905 (£4.98M) was raised for international charitable causes. As the official international charity programme partner for the event, realbuzz supports hundreds of international charities and over 2,000 charity runners to take on this world-famous marathon.
The fundraising achievement represents a 51.5% increase in total funds raised compared to last year, alongside a 35% rise in average funds raised per runner, with participants raising an average of €2,516 (£2,079) each.
With a record-breaking 54,280 finishers, the 2024 marathon was a historic event, marking the 50th anniversary of the race. This year, the marathon was officially recognised as the largest in the world, with nearly 80,000 active participantsacross the collective race weekend events, and attendance from around the globe.
The realbuzz charity programme played a key role in this outstanding success, with funds raised through runners supporting a wide range of global charities. The increase in both the number of participants and the funds raised highlights the growing influence and impact of charity running, especially within major international events such as the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON.
Christian Jost, CEO at SCC EVENTS, the organisers of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON, said:
“We are absolutely delighted with the phenomenal success of this year’s event, which not only marked a significant milestone in our history but also saw record-breaking fundraising achievements. The contributions raised through the realbuzz charity programme have made a real difference to numerous causes, and we are grateful for the continued partnership. We look forward to even greater collaboration in the future.”
