NNormal presents Kjerag Brut, the shoes designed to enjoy even in the roughest conditions
- The new model ensures exceptional grip on slippery terrains
- The brand reaffirms its commitment to durability with a design that offers great resistance
NNormal, the sports equipment brand founded by Kilian Jornet and Camper in 2022, is launching a new model from the Kjerag family, the Kjerag Brut. “Brut”, that means “dirty” in Catalan is designed to face the toughest conditions, standing out for their excellent performance on difficult terrains, where grip, breathability, and lightness are essential.
Additionally, they are designed to be used in the roughest environments, ensuring that runners and adventurers maintain a stable and reliable connection with the ground beneath their feet with every stride.
“After many months of work, we are launching the Brut within the Kjerag family, an ideal model for those moments when conditions become unpredictable and terrains change their texture suddenly. These shoes are made for those who enjoy getting dirty, without losing a good grip on the ground,” emphasizes Sito Luis Salas, CEO of NNormal.
Designed for the toughest conditions
As a new addition to the Kjerag family, the Brut inherits the best features of the series but is specially designed for soft, vertical, and loose terrains. With them, mud, snow, or gravel will be another element of the game.Their design prioritizes control and adaptability, allowing athletes to move freely while staying anchored to the ground. Their Matryx Micro upper offers breathability and lightness, while the TPU protection on the toe and the Lightbase Megagrip outsoleprovide durability and protection without added weight.
Tested at the highest level
There is no better test than a trial in one of the best trail running races in the world. Kilian Jornet and Elhousine Elazzaoui wore the Brut outsole at Zegama 2024, demonstrating its strength on one of the most demanding circuits.
Stamped in the landscape
The Kjerag Brut mirrors rugged terrains, with various visible marks in their design, emulating mountainous landscapes. Their pattern reflects the stains and patterns left by the wild, symbolizing the beauty of the material used. The design arises from manually staining the sneakers, embracing the idea that true beauty and true performance are not primitive, but are achieved through experiences, trials, and expertise.
On the other hand, the word “Brut” means “dirty,” an adjective it has earned due to its idiosyncrasy. Moreover, it carries a deeper connection with Mallorca, home to the roots of NNormal. Inspired by the traditional Mallorcan dish Arròs Brut (‘dirty rice’), – so called because of its “dirty” color, a result of the mixture of many ingredients – these shoes invite wearers to step into the mess, embrace the elements, and turn each route into a distinct adventure.
Colours and availability in stores
The Kjerag Brut will go on sale for a retail price of €200 and will be available in black, both in stores and on nnormal.com.
