Royal Bank of Canada Joins London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 as Official Sponsor

The London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) is thrilled to announce Royal Bank of Canada as an Official Event Sponsor for its annual event, set for Sunday, 6th April 2025. This partnership marks the LLHM’s largest sponsorship to date, with Royal Bank of Canada keen to support LLHM in their target of fundraising an additional £16million through the 2025 event.

Royal Bank of Canada’s support of major running events globally makes this sponsorship a natural fit, reflecting its dedication to championing impactful charity initiatives that promote health and wellbeing. This resonates perfectly with LLHM’s mission to create an event that benefits the charity sector, while celebrating London’s rich cultural heritage and bringing together its diverse communities through fitness.

Promoting inclusion and fostering wellness among clients, employees, and the broader community is a core pillar of Royal Bank of Canada’s purpose of helping clients thrive and communities prosper, making its partnership with LLHM an ideal collaboration.

As a 100% not-for-profit event, the LLHM raises millions of pounds not only for the event organisers, pregnancy and baby charity Tommy’s, but also for more than 680 additional charity partners involved in the race. To date, the event has raised over £54 million for these vital causes. With a shared commitment to strengthening communities and enabling life-changing charity work, the partnership between the LLHM and Royal Bank of Canada is built on a foundation of shared values and a vision for positive social impact.

Lia Fyles, London Landmarks Race Director, expressed her excitement about the partnership, saying: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Royal Bank of Canada as an official sponsor. Royal Bank of Canada recognises the importance of physical and mental health, supporting a broad range of community initiatives through charitable donations, community investments and employee volunteer activities. We are so excited to be working with Royal Bank of Canada to showcase the work we do, fundraising millions each year for hundreds of charities. Together, I know we will make the 2025 event our most inspiring and impactful yet.”

Desiree Clarke Noble, Global Head, Sustainability and Impact, RBC Capital Markets and Head, Citizenship, RBC Europe  added: ”All of us at Royal Bank of Canada are thrilled to be partnering with Tommy’s on the 2025 London Landmarks Half Marathon, a fantastically unique event that celebrates London’s history while benefiting hundreds of charities. We cannot wait to cheer on all the ‘roarsome’ runners in this year’s Half!”

Royal Bank of Canada are set to immerse themselves into the event wholeheartedly, both on and off the route, with a variety of uplifting initiatives, including:

  • Bespoke ‘Lions of London’ experience – with LLHM being a celebration of the grand, quirky and hidden historical landmarks of London, Royal Bank of Canada’s activation will celebrate both their official mascot, Leo the Lion, as well as the 10,000 lion statues found across London. Leo the Lion will be leading a team of Royal Bank of Canada supporters cheering runners on as they are the ‘mane’ event!
  • Top fundraiser celebration – every year the LLHM celebrates a number of participants who have fundraised the highest total for their charities or who have fundraised in the most creative or unique way. The team at Royal Bank of Canada will be helping us celebrate these worthy fundraisers on race day.
  • A Royal Bank of Canada branded water station keeping runners hydrated
  • Royal Bank of Canada Team of 100 clients and colleagues will participate in the race.
  • Staff education – Tommy’s will provide Royal Bank of Canada staff with educational sessions, volunteer opportunities, and visits to its pre-term birth centre to increase awareness about how their support helps fund the vital work the charity provides to families across the UK.

In 2024, nearly 19,000 runners, including visually impaired and wheelchair participants, hit London’s streets, raising over £14.7 million for Tommy’s and hundreds of other charities. With Royal Bank of Canada’s involvement, LLHM 2025 promises to be an even greater celebration of community, inclusion, and hope.
