Autumn-winter 2023/24: discover La Sportiva’s new collection

From ski touring to Mountain Running®, from mountaineering to rock-climbing, the 2023/24 autumn-winter novelties are designed to meet the needs of every athlete, taking them down untrodden paths and encouraging them to enjoy the challenge of getting up every morning and aiming for the highest peak.

Growing, challenging oneself, evolving. All this in perfect harmony with the planet. These are the goals we strive for every day, seeking for our work to ensure maximum quality, durability and technical performance of our products, in full respect of the environment and its ecosystems. This challenge translates into daily action in La Sportiva’s R&D department, with a selection of 100% recycled materials, organic and bio-degradable fabrics with the highest degree of technical performance.

The crown jewel of this season – whose watchword is innovation – is represented by the Alpine Tech line, created to guarantee uncompromising performance to all mountaineers. This collection is the result of a long journey. It was designed, developed and tested for several years, in collaboration with mountain guides and athletes, invaluable allies in achieving our goal of bringing highly technical, cutting-edge equipment to the market . The undisputed highlight of the collection is the Supercouloir GTX Pro, developed for modern ice and mixed climbing: hardshell jacket and trousers designed to offer extreme protection, abrasion resistance and freedom of movement during the most intense technical winter activities. Another novelty is the  Supercouloir 1000 Down jkt quilted jacket. Its white down 1000 cuin padding ensures maximum insulation even in the harshest climatic conditions, combining lightness, packability and unparalleled thermal capacity.

The rest of the collection devotes ample space to sustainability, with the inclusion of mono-component garments and the use of Evo-Shelltechnology and Primaloft padding, to offer products from the recyclable materials and low environmental impact. In the same vein, on the climbing side, the big news comes in the form of the Nature Down Jk, La Sportiva’s first down-filled quilted jacket made in Amni Soul Eco, the first biodegradable yarn with accelerated decomposition. In addition, for the most demanding ski mountaineers, we have launched a brand new line of silk and wool underwear that uses Native Technology™ to maximise thermal protection and promote sweat evaporation. It will be of great use to mountain enthusiasts in extremely cold climates, without neglecting technical performance and comfort.

On the footwear side, the main feature of the new collection are the  G-Summit and G-Tech boots: light, precise, ultra-protective, they set the standard for high-altitude mountaineering, guaranteeing maximum performance in the most intense technical situations and in extreme environmental conditions. The G-Summit boots were developed in collaboration with mountaineer François Cazzanelli. Thanks to its special removable liner, the product customisable depending on the thermal requirements of these extreme environments. G-Tech, on the other hand, is the ideal product for ice climbing and modern mixed climbing, for mountaineering in extremely technical terrain with vertical climbs and a high level of exposure.

La Sportiva is launching innovations in other product categories too: in our climbing range, we find the TC Extreme, a shoe with a gaiter in resistant stretch fabric, designed for extreme winter conditions; and the new Katanas, the aesthetic upgrade of one of La Sportiva’s most popular products, designed to offer versatility, comfort and extreme precision. The  Jackal II GTX model is now available in the Mountain Running® range, as the GORE-TEX version of the pre-existing Jackal II model. It offers an even higher degree of protection against harsh weather conditions. For children, we offer the  Bushido II JR GTX, a miniature waterproof version of the iconic Bushido.

The Skimo category sees the addition of two new boot models, resulting from our consolidated experience in the world of racing. One is the Stratos VI, the successor model to the racing boot worn by world championship winner Michele Boscacci, now available in a new version with a record low weight of 530g (liner included) and featuring a full-length gaiter for improved protection against the elements. The racing sector has also seen updates to  Raceborgs II, a boot with a Grilamid® shell and full carbon-fibre cuff. Thanks to the new ski-walk mechanism, made even lighter and more reliable, Raceborg II offers top performance in racing, promising to satisfy even the most demanding buyers looking for lightness and performance. The light touring category continues to be dominated by Solar II, Stellar II andSkorpius CR II, now equipped with BOA® Fit System technology, which allows micrometric adjustment of the shell fastening, offering great precision both uphill and downhill. Leading the free touring category, with new updated graphics, is Vanguard: a modern boot with cutting-edge design combining maximum walkability and reactivity, thanks to its Cuff in Bio-Based Pebax® Rnew 1100 allowing an exceptional 63-degree range of movement.
