Blended Trails to host an official Backyard Ultra on private land in Hampshire this June & registration is open!
Blended Trails is a vibrant, free-to-join trail running community that hosts free Pop-Up trail running events, guided running, and a handful of paid events in Hampshire each year. Its focus is on excellent trails and experiences. In June, the team will be hosting an official Backyard Ultra.
Set on stunning trails within private land at Chilton Manor Farm in The Candovers, The Blended Backyard is perfect for seasoned trail runners, ultra runners, and those looking to push the boundaries of personal achievement.
“The route has been carefully chosen, designed to engage and inspire the participants, packed with variety, and with a camp set on the seam of Godsfield Copse—a stone’s throw from the trig point of Bugmore Hill. It’s set to be a superb event,” says RD Ollie Steele-Perkins.
Developed by Gary ‘Lazarus Lake’ Cantrell, the founder of the infamous Barkley Marathons, the race requires entrants to complete consecutive loops of exactly 6,706m (4 miles, 880ft) in less than one hour. It finishes when only one runner remains to complete a lap.
Each new loop starts precisely one hour after the last. This race is open-ended. All entrants except the last runner to complete a lap are considered DNF.
