Record-Breaking Numbers at This Year’s Nick Beer Llandudno 10K

North Wales-based event organisers Always Aim High Events kicked off their 2025 season in spectacular fashion this weekend with the iconic Nick Beer Llandudno 10K.

This year’s race saw record-breaking participation, with over 860 entries and 744 runners lining up to take on the challenge.

Now in its 33rd year, the event was originally hosted by North Wales Road Runners before Always Aim High Events took it under their wing three years ago, adding it to their portfolio of community-driven races. As a not-for-profit event, it continues to support local charities as well as the North Wales Road Runners Club.

The scenic route takes runners along Llandudno’s promenade before heading around Marine Drive on the Great Orme, offering breathtaking coastal views. The race day delivered cold but dry conditions, creating the perfect setting for runners to push their limits.

In the men’s race, Rhys Jones of Hebog Runners claimed victory with an impressive time of 33:09. He was closely followed by last year’s champion, Simon Cole, who secured second place in 33:29. Alex Homei completed the podium, finishing third in 33:26.

The women’s race saw Always Aim High Events regular Tinka Vinks of Eryri Harriers take the top spot with a time of 39:08. Last year’s winner, Emma Alofs, put up a strong defence of her title but had to settle for second place in 39:39. Lucie Truett rounded out the top three, crossing the line in 40:55.

Prior to the main event, the festivities kicked off with a 1k kids’ fun run, with all proceeds generously benefiting the local charity, St. David’s Hospice. The event was a resounding success, raising thousands for this worthy cause.

Prizes were awarded across all five-year age categories from Veteran 40 onwards.

Tim Lloyd, Managing Director of Always Aim High Events, shared his excitement:
“It’s fantastic to see this legendary race continue to grow year after year—there’s no better way to kick off the season! A huge thank you to the North Wales Road Runners, who remain a key part of this event, and to our local sponsors for their continued support.”

Entries for the 2026 event will open in four weeks. Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of this incredible race next year!
