SCOTT hits the trails with new Ultra Carbon RC run shoe

SCOTT has unveiled the SCOTT Ultra Carbon RC, billed as its most technological trail racing product to date. The new trail running shoe features a Carbitex GearFlex plate with an ‘evolved rocker technology’.

SCOTT adds that… ‘The new Ultra Traction outsole has strategically placed lugs to provide the best traction for those fast-rolling summer trail races. The shoe feels light and cushioned thanks to the Kinetic Light Foam and has a high level of comfort from its specifically designed and engineered upper.’

The company claims that the unique benefitsof the Carbitex GearFlex carbon fibre plate is its dynamic flexible property. The plate responds by increasing stiffness as a runner increases speed, and retains flexibility at a lower pace.

For this trail running racing shoe, SCOTT created a new design of the carbon plate which is split under the forefoot and towards the heel to increase lateral flex. This swallow tail design allows for increased lateral flex and a natural decoupling of the forefoot and rearfoot – meaning the shoe retains a more natural dynamic on uneven terrain.
