Silva: ISPO Award 2022 winner – Spectra by Silva

The Swedish outdoor brand Silva presented the first liquid-filled compass in 1933, and already in 1935, the first headlamp – the Zeiler – was introduced. Ever since, Silva has continued to develop outdoor products for both world athletes and everyday adventurers. Spectra is the latest innovation to be launched to customers who aim high, and who require reliable equipment with the same extraordinary ambition. The new headlamp has now been announced as an ISPO Award 2022 winner.

The 10 000 lumen will give you more than enough light to go full speed regardless your sport. Spectra is a cutting edge innovation in a sleek, intuitive design with the equivalent light output of several cars. Spectra has 8 powerful LED lights and features Silva Intelligent Light – a unique combination of a long reach spotlight and a close flood light. There are 5 different light settings, ranging from 10 000 to 80 lumen, to optimize the light for your speed or activity, or to save battery time when needed.

This is what the ISPO Award jury says about Spectra:

When darkness comes and you still want to go outdoors, this headlamp turns night to day with no limits. Sleek design, flexible tilt angle, and grip surfaces to adjust the 5 different light modes add to it. So much powerful light and quality construction is perfect for action outdoor sports.“

To create the perfect and the strongest light, Spectra is built with world class Cree XLamp XHP50.2 LEDs and LEDil TINA2-RS lenses. The Cree LEDs are the next generation of extreme high-power LEDs that deliver the best lumen density, reliability and color consistency. The LEDil lenses offer the perfect beam angles, high UV and temperature resistance.

This headlamp is a product of high level engineering. Our biggest challenge was creating a headlamp with this amount of light while also keeping it cool, hence the wave shapes to maximize the cooling surface. It is all about making sure you get maximum light when needed and to ensure the highest quality of light and light ergonomics, says Joel Engfeldt, Product developer at Silva.

Spectra is available as Spectra A and Spectra O. A for action, and O for orienteering. Both models have the same extraordinary 10 000 lumen, but the accessories are different. There are 10 accessories in total which makes Spectra perfect for many action sports. Skiing, biking, orienteering, snowmobiling just to name a few. The accessories include bike attachments, GoPro mount, charger, extension cable, a head mount made of neoprene, a harness for the battery and the Spectra Remote Control so that you can control your headlamp from your wrist or handlebar.
