New race structure for HYROX Majors in 2024-25 season
Ahead of its 2024-25 season, indoor race series HYROX has confirmed an amended race structure for its Majors races.
This year’s HYROX Elite 15 Series will consist of:
- 4 Major Races (Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Glasgow). Qualification to the Majors is earned via automatic qualification from season 2023-24 and time placings in the current season, top 3 times at each Major qualify for The HYROX World Championships.
- 1 Last Chance Qualifiers (Barcelona) – an open field event at the end of the Major’s season schedule to fill any remaining spots for The HYROX World Championships.
- The HYROX World Championship – billed as the pinnacle of the HYROX race season.
The only route to qualify for the World Championships is by placing at a Major Championship or Last Chance Qualifier event; there is no direct qualification via time in a regular season race.
The Majors provide the first opportunities for athletes to qualify for the World Championships. Each race will host a Male and a Female Elite 15 Event, resulting in 15 Male and 15 Female athletes qualifying.
Qualification for these Major events occurs via a combination of:
- Automatic qualification: Every Major Winner and World Podiums 1, 2, and 3 of Season 23/24 automatically qualify for each Major event.
- Time qualification: The average of the best two individual pro times of the past year until 15 participants are reached. This is a new dynamic ranking updated with each race to reflect the past 365 days from the event date.
Qualification for World Championships
Podiums 1, 2, and 3 from each Major event will directly qualify for the Elite 15 race at the Worlds. The winner of each Major will directly qualify for all remaining Majors. The three remaining spots after Majors will be up for grabs by the top finishers in the pro division of the LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier) event.
Qualified athletes will receive an email with all race-related information to confirm their spot. For those who haven’t qualified for Elite 15, the only way to participate in the Worlds is to qualify through the regular process in an age group / division.
