Supporting SME Skills: The National Help to Grow Management programme
Business leaders in small and medium enterprises have been particularly affected by the challenging market conditions. However, surviving the pandemic is not enough to ensure business continuity and future growth. The volatile landscape remains and might become our permanent fixture.
Many businesses recognise that they require support with long term strategies, building resilience and staff engagement. If any of these issues ring true for your business, you might be interested in a practical programme, designed especially for business practitioners, aiming to enhance their knowledge and develop their leadership and management capabilities. This provision was developed by UK chartered Universities in partnership with the UK’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
Help to Grow Management is a 12-week programme delivered by Leeds Business School at Leeds Beckett University, among other partners. It’s a highly practical programme that enhances leadership skills within small businesses across a range of critical business topics – such as productivity, strategy and innovation, entering new markets, branding and marketing, leadership and staff engagement, organisational design, sustainability, and finance. The key objective of the scheme is to enable SMEs to adapt to change, stimulate innovation and improve their long-term overall business performance.
The online modules are easy to access and follow, with online peer groups providing valuable networking opportunities and a platform to share best practice. Finally, the generous 10 hours of dedicated business mentoring per participant is there to help you shape your future success – by assisting you in developing an actionable growth plan.
With 90% of the programme costs funded by BEIS, businesses pay a symbolic fee of £750 to secure a place on this sought-after three-month course. The ambitious targets set by CABS and BEIS seek to support 300,000 SMEs nationally over the programme’s lifespan. Leeds Business School is proud to be offering this support to our regional business.
