RIA Member – Kevin McGarry Studio
Kevin McGarry is a fine artist and professional photographer, born and now based in Scotland. Combining 35 years of University teaching and fine art research to create stunning, surreal images of the Scottish landscape.
Kevin has built up an impressive client list and a variety of commissions including several Royal Events, as well as covering the London Olympics, Glasgow 2014 and the Gold Coast Games for Team Scotland.
He has worked on a personal level for well know athletes; Sir Mo Farah, Sir Chris Hoy, Usain Bolt and Ellie Doyle, and covering major sporting events such as Tour de France and London Marathon.
Energetic and hardworking, he himself has run 49 marathons around the world (with a PB of 2hrs 49 mins of which he is ludicrously proud of). Kevin is preparing to run his 50th marathon this year and always says that “you have to have a good sense of humour to run so far”!
He completed a research sabbatical at Emily Carr University, Vancouver and the Banff Centre, Alberta and more recently a research degree at Glasgow School of Art. Whilst in Vancouver Kevin was tasked with working as a stills photographer on a variety of TV and Film sets.
